Lots of exciting things in the works: La Buya - this is a great new project with Skerik and Cheme and I on saxophones, flutes and clarinets, with Isabel (Elizabeth Pupo-Walker) and onercussion, plus Neil Ochea and Alex Alvear on percussion and bass. It is a smoking badn, very funk and latin based original music for themost part. We premiered the band in December 2004 and have been playing around New York on a regular basis. The Tiptons Sax Quartet - if you have not checked us out youshould! The band has been around for 15 years - and I 've been a part of it since 1992. It is a pretty amazing group of women playing some really crazy music - new orleans jump groove, hip-hop, funk, eastern european klezmer, punk and beyond.... We will be in Europe for the month of October.2005. See dates on the tour page for more info. Our new CD DRIVE will be available in October and is fantastic!!! We also have a great CD Tsunami (made long before the actual horrific event , March 2004) That can be purchased here or through CDbaby .com Jessica Lurie & Andrew Drury Duo Project: Living Daylights - new versions and expansions - As many of you have noticed. LD has not been playing as much as before . Aren has had a baby and is full time in accoutning school. We'll still be playing occassionally as the original trio, but now I think we are becoming a more expansive group, trying new things with new players added on. Elizabeth Pupo-Walker has been a frequent additon who kicks it up several notches on percussion, and keyboardist Joe Doria. Dale and I will be also putting some new crazy projects together to rock and funk out a bit. Stay tuned! | |||||||
